Triplicate in Dublin

November 14th Triplicate (the trio with Bob Wijnen and Johnny Daley) will be performing in Dublin at the Mermaid Arts Centre. For tickets and more information please check The Mermaid's website
A little note about the trio:
This drumless trio, consisting of trumpet, piano and double bass, specialises in the more "off the beaten track" jazz repatoir. From the up beat, hard swinging tunes of Benny Golson and Tadd Dameron to the lush, melancholic compositions of Billy Strayhorn, this group has something from all the different styles and moods that go to make up the rich tapestry that is jazz music. Trumpeter Ellister van der Molen and pianist Bob Wijnen are both well known faces on the scene in their native Holland and further afield, while bassist Johnny Daly is a Dubliner who moved to the Netherlands in 2002 to study at the Royal Consevatory in the Hague. The three found that they have similar taste, not only in music, but also in approach to performance, arrangement, presentation etc. The result is "Triplicate", a group dedicated to the roots of jazz music while constantly looking to the future.
