Studio Pics
So I must admit: I started taking
pictures only on the last bit of the second studio day. Not very good pictures either, but they give a little bit of an idea of the atmosphere in the studio. We worked two long days in which we recorded 11 original compositions of the band members.
I cannot wait till the CD is all finished!
Next Sunday in Breda
Next Sunday I'll be playing in Breda with singer Chris Peeters. The concert is part of the
Swingfestival Breda: there's nice concerts throughout the city all weekend!

CD recording
When the Amersfoort-based
Global Village Festival put together a ladies band in the end of 2006, nobody could have known this would be this much of a successful formula. With six ladies who are well-known in their own scene, a special "click" seemed to appear. Each member contributed two or more originals and a nice blend of styles melted together into a joyful interaction.
Unfortunately two concerts is all we ever played, mostly due to our busy performing schedules. However: - as the dutch say: what is inside the barrel doesn't go sour :) - Sunday and Monday, almost two years later, we are finally recording a CD at
Power Sound Studio, Amsterdam. I'm so excited!
So who are those women?
- Denise Jannah - vocals
- Corrie van Binsbergen - guitar
- Ellister van der Molen - trumpet and flugelhorn
- Amina Figarova - piano
- Mick Paauwe - bass
- Femke Krone - percussion
P.S. 1 For the dutch-reading people amongst you:
CultuurPodium wrote
a nice article about the concert in Amersfoort.
P.S. 2 The band initially was called
Global Women, but I expect we shall find ourselves a name that is more suitable.
