Alice in Dixieland goes to Rimini
Fortunately there is still some touring going on: with Alice in Dixieland we shall be going to Rimini, Italy next Monday to play there on a local jazz festival. Let's just hope the weather is nice :D
Kinshasa cancelled
The dutch ambassador had postponed the payment of the flight tickets to an extent where they had become way too expensive... pfff!

David Lukács final exam
Last Monday clarinet/saxophone player David Lukács played his final exam in the 'Theater aan het Spui' in The Hague. Playing a very nice swing repertoire, he made the right choice by asking Cajan Witmer, Jos Machtel and Louis Debij as a rhythm section. This is the most swinging trio you can wish for! And David himself played just wonderful!
Unfortunately the two people in the audience trying to record it both had technical problems. Let's just hope the video will do the trick; it would really be a nice to organize a little tour with this formation..

Andy Haderer and Tim Wilson
Last Sunday Andy Haderer and Tim Wilson were guest soloists with the New Generation Big Band. Both are amazing soloists. Because of Andy's reputation as a supertrumpeter the audience consisted of trumpet players for at least 90%. No need to explaine the ambience was very good ;)Sunday, June 10, 2007
Jazz at the Crow
Cees van de Ven made this picture when I was playing at 'Craaij en Balder' (Jazz at the Crow) in Eindhoven. More of his photos can be found on http://www.flickr.com/photos/jazzcase/sets/72157600331505144/Ellister goes classical..?
Normally I don't do a lot of classical playing. Not that I don't like it, it's just another scene. And a whole other specialism.Last Wednesday and Friday however, I made an exception and participated in the 'Music Paradigm": a workshop which points out parrallels between a symphony orchestra and a company. The trumpet I am holding on this picture is a borrowed Bach C trumpet.
