Fortaleza, Brazil
Today after rehearsal we visited a social project in the neighbourhood of our studio in Palmeiras. Young people get a chance to learn caipoeira, acrobatics, dancing, circus, acting, reading etc. They had prepared a show especially for us. Really touching! The youngest member of the project is still a baby (see picture) and it goes till eighteen..

Since I haven´t given a line up yet, I will do so now: The dutch musicians are called Joris (lead singer/guitar) Peter (guitar/ bass guitar) Robin (drums) and Ernst (sound engineer/ guitar).
The Brazilian guys are Paulo (pandeira) Adriano (vocals, cavaquinho), Jorge (guitar) and Junior (surdo) plus the female singer Vivian.
Then there is Arjen, our big boss,Silke our chief of camera and Erwin the camera man.
It is nice to see how the Brazilians are eager to work together on different styles (pop, rock, samba, forró). And also how the world is still full of surprises to them. The band is growing together as a band. Since the first days had been about rehearsing only, it was nice to go out of the city on Saturday for a nice excursion to the house of the family of our interpretar. Swimming, volleyball, football, hanging around... The atmosphere was really relaxed, although of course there always is a camera at your tail.
Brazil!!!
After a long, long trip we arrived tuesday evening in Fortaleza, Brazil. Being tired as we were, it was a bit disappointing to have to wait long at the customs, too.
Arjen, the big boss picked us up together with the camera man who is there to shoot literally everything.. Next day we met the Brazilians. They really swing! nice guys, good atmosphere. The original plan was to have a concert already on thursday, so we had some heavy rehearsing going on.. Too bad the concert was cancelled, so we had a huge dinner instead in our appartment. Brazil is a funny place.. Later I will post more about the music, the band, the sea, the food, the projects...

Last Saturday I played in the Regentenkamer in The Hague with Rob van Kreefeld, Jos Machtel and Henk Zomer. This is one of the many pictures that were taken that particular evening.
With a line up like this it goes without saying there was something happening!
